LA COLINA BEFORE AND AFTER

Oh La Colina, how I love you. The clients, the 70's vibes and of course the finished product. I just love how this house turned out. Sometimes some of the most challenging layouts turn out to be the best transformations and La Colina is one of those. We renovated the kitchen, fireplaces, stairs, guest bathroom, girls bathroom and primary bathroom.

Let's start in the kitchen with this lovely before...

Don't you just love that drop ceiling? How about those tile countertops? I'm sure you love scrubbing the coffee grinds and wine stains out of those. My fave. This space needed some major TLC and we had big plans for the space! After LOTS of floor planning, we pulled together some super realistic 3D renders, let's take a look below.

3D CONCEPT:

Mind blown yet? So we presented removing the drop ceiling, adding beams and removing the center wall but leaving the fireplace and updating it and installing the pantry in place of the lovely 70's desk cabinet situation. We relocated the fridge and sliding glass door to open up a nice dining area. I love how this opened things up and gave this family a HUGE island! 94x65 to be exact! Let's take a look at the final design!

Isn't it lovely? We did 2CM granite on the perimeter and then a nice 1 3/4" quartz on the island. I love the tile backsplash and so glad we took it to the ceiling and loved tying in some vertical shiplap on the hood and pantry. Everything from the leather on the counter stools to the fabric bench cushions and window treatments just makes me so happy! It's in the details! Wanna see the dining nook, it's adorable, I know you do!

Here's a before and after view of the fireplace behind the pantry. We removed the bulky hearth and shiplap, and added a simple plaster ledge and a clean black square tile. Do you love it? I love it!

Ready to check out the rest of the house. Let's head down the hall to the guest bath. Check out this before...

I barely remember this before. I mean that tile has got to go! We were pretty excited to present this 3D concept. We elevated this space with a custom push-touch white rift oak vanity and some REALLY pretty tile! Just wait for it!

3D CONCEPT

Our clients changed absolutely nothing on this design. Remember when I said "best clients ever"? We pour countless hours into capturing inspo and collecting lifestyle details from our clients before we ever start designing so our goal is to present something our clients will absolutely love. These clients were just so grateful and excited during their presentation day. Really the best reward for all our design time. Let's take a look at the final design!

Can we drool over those slate floors? We had to have our mirror custom-made which was a saga and a half. Nothing custom is ever easy. But it all came together so beautifully and it is the best guest bath! Look at this before and after of that shower!!!

I could stare at that shower all day! We added a hand shower so they can bathe the dog in there. Design is about function + beauty. Gotta have both! We also designed a custom stationary shower door which I love. So clean + crisp! Ready for more juicy before and afters? Let's head upstairs to the girls' bath!

BEFORE

Our favorite, tile countertops...said no one EVER! This space might be one of my favorite all-time transformations! We got free rein on creativity and I just love the custom floors and wallpaper! Here's our 3D concept below.

3D CONCEPT

Isn't is just so darling?! The cabinet color, the tile pattern and THAT wallpaper!!!! Now let's scroll down to the after!!!

AFTER

We painted the ceiling a soft pink, so cute! And again, the floors were so fun to design to compliment the wallpaper! So much interest in this bathroom. It makes me so happy!

Isn't this just so darling?! What a great girls' bath! It was even featured on Houzz and you can read more about it here. Such a fun mix of color and pattern. What do you think? Ok, one more space I wanna share before we wrap up! The primary bath. This was a VERY cramped and dark space. I'm so happy we had the opportunity to update this space so mom and dad can have a space to disconnect and relax. Let's take a look at the before.

BEFORE

Yup, that's it. Tight quarters right? And the tile countertops strike again! Can we say yikes? So here was our concept.

3D CONCEPT

We said, let's just remove that whole wall and open up the shower with some custom glass. Yes please! It's not a lot of square footage to work with, but we can certainly maximize it. We really wanted to give them a dual vanity with plenty of storage and just open things up. We installed a pocket door to clear the walkway and ta-da! Let's see the after...

AFTER

So charming, right? I'll show you another view because it's too good not to! Let's blow your mind with this before and after!

BEFORE + AFTER

You can see in this photo the wall on the left that was removed. We patched up that unnecessary window and added a door to the closet and a custom pocket door separates the bath from the rest of the bedroom. I would say we made some magic happen in this space. What do you think?

This house truly was a labor of love. We love our job and our clients! We don't just renovate spaces, but I truly believe we enhance everyday living when we update spaces. If you wanna see more of our La Colina project head to our portfolio page!
