This fall we ventured out to Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica for a week long family vacation. Many of you followed along on IG stories to see our trip unfold. Some of you had questions about the trip and how kid-friendly it was, so I thought I would share all the details here. We traveled Sept-Oct which is Costa Rica's "slow season" due to weather. However, we did not experience any heavy rainfall. It felt very tropical, similar to Hawaii. We actually really appreciated the drop in tourism during our visit, although several restaurants did shut down during our stay.
Our kids are 6 & 8 and we decided to stay at a VRBO. I really wanted some privacy and the luxury of not wearing an ounce of makeup! Haha! Once you see the view, you'll understand why it was so easy to pull the trigger on this vacation. The location was amazing! There were several restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance and all our excursions picked up from our house.
This was our morning view ALL. WEEK. LONG. Each day was filled with macaws, sloths and monkeys. And each afternoon included a relaxing swim in our private pool. Catch my drift?
We stayed busy with lots of excursions like an ATV tour, a visit to the National Park, a chocolate tour, a private chef, a mangrove tour, a night jungle tour and more. It was quite the adventure for the whole family.
The beaches were almost as beautiful as the people. Everyone was so kind and gracious and we felt so welcomed everywhere we went. I think the animal encounters were absolutely the highlight of our trip.
Yes, the monkeys were THIS close to us. It was insane. I know this vacation will forever be in our hearts. Would love to know if any of you have traveled to Manuel Antonio or if you have any questions about our trip. I'm happy to share details!
